The deadline to apply:

  • For the courses to be started in September 2025: 30 June 2025
  • For the courses to be started in October or later: 10 September 2025.

How should I apply?

  1. Scan the Transnational online catalogue and identify any courses offered by another university than your current one that fit your study programme or are of interest to you.
  2. Contact your study advisor (i.e. the person responsible for the programme you are currently doing at your university), discuss whether the course is suitable for your programme and clarify whether the course could be taken as a core subject or as an elective one.
  3. If your study advisor approves, please complete the Learning Agreement (available for download) and have it signed by the Erasmus+ coordinator at your faculty or department (both digital signature and scanned copies of the signed document are acceptable).
    • Students of the CHARM-EU Joint Master programme, students at the University of Montpellier, the University of Barcelona, Hochschule Ruhr West and the Trinity College Dublin are eligible to participate, but without the opportunity to get recognized the credits gained. For this reason, they are not requested to prepare a Learning Agreement. The LA should not be signed by the host university.
    • Students at Utrecht University do not require a signature from the study advisor in the Learning Agreement. Instead, Freeke Jansen (details below) can sign it.
    • The Learning Agreement does not yet give you a guarantee for credit transfer towards your own study programme. Credit recognition will be managed in line with the standard procedures of your home university. For details, please turn to the contact person of your university (see details below).
    • In case you are in the final semester of your current study programme, the credits obtained may not be counted towards the overall credits of your programme, as credit transfer takes place (in most cases) retrospectively, after the end of the semester / at the beginning of the next semester. In case you are hesitant in this regard, please contact your local registrar’s office.
  4. To apply for one of the courses, please fill in the online application form which is available here: application form.
    • It is possible to register for maximum 3 courses, but it is strongly advised to consider the workload of it. For each course a separate application should be submitted.
    • At some host universities a selection might apply.
      • Students should meet the preconditions set in the descriptions of the courses in the course catalogue. (e.g. study level of the course).
      • When the demand is higher for a course than the number of places, the following selection criteria are applied:
        1. Quality of the motivation of the applicants
          • Clarity and Relevance of Goals
          • Interest in Intercultural and Transnational Learning Experience
        2. Balance of the partner universities
  5. Students whose applications are approved must send the signed Learning Agreement to the contact person of their own university (see below).

When do I get a reply?

After the deadline for applications, we will check all documents and allocate the available places. You can expect to have a final answer:

  • In case of the 12 June deadline by 30 June 2025.
  • In case of the 10 September deadline by 30 September 2025.

After you are admitted, your host institution will onboard you and give you access to the course materials and other things you may need.
