On October 24, 2023, two representatives from ED-AFFICHE, Laura Colò, Project Officer, and Kurt Willems, Project Coordinator, participated in a significant in-person mid-term meeting organized by the DG EAC of the European Commission. They were joined by representatives from five other selected pilot projects for a constructive and enlightening discussion about the future of the European Degree label.

During this meeting, participants engaged in thought-provoking discussions on several pivotal topics. First and foremost, they explored the added value of a European Degree, highlighting the impetus it provides in overcoming barriers associated with joint degrees and fostering a deeper sense of European citizenship. Additionally, the gathering tackled solutions to address obstacles in the delivery of joint degrees, ensuring the quality assurance of a joint European degree. Lastly, there was a robust conversation surrounding the enhancement and refinement of the criteria associated with the European degree label.

In a collaborative and co-creative process, representatives from the pilot projects and the European Commission worked together to address challenges, dispel doubts, and brainstorm potential solutions for this initiative.
