On October 16th and 17th, the University of Montpellier hosted the inaugural European Engineering Schools and Engineering Masters Days.
This highly anticipated event gathered an illustrious assembly of teachers-researchers and educationalists from CHARM-EU partner universities (University of Barcelona, Eötvös Loránd University, Åbo Akademi University, Hochschule Ruhr West University of Applied Sciences, and the University of Montpellier), each with profound specialization in various facets of engineering.
Together, participants embarked on a collective journey to forge new pathways in international program development. After a half-day online preparatory session held on October 9th, where they introduced each other to the challenges faced by their respective institutions (encompassing mobility, professional development, shared degrees/modules, internships, …), they gathered in-person for a day and a half to discuss these challenges and develop solutions through the power of collective intelligence and the innovative approach of Design Thinking.
This event shows once again the unique opportunity offered by the European Universities initiative to foster interaction with European partners and to enable the exploration of pedagogical and research collaboration possibilities. The meeting will ultimately result into a tangible list of cooperative actions between partners, a testament to the collective commitment upheld by the alliance.
This gathering also lies on CHARM-EU’s will to cultivate enduring relationships among its partners and to promote collaboration at all levels. It is our conviction that strengthening the community building and networking within the Alliance is the key to shape the future landscape of education and research. In that sense, the European Engineering Schools and Engineering Masters Days represent a significant milestone in the collaborative effort of CHARM-EU institutions across Europe.
