CHARM-EU and its partner university Trinity College Dublin were announced as winners of the Best International Collaboration Project Award at the annual Education Awards ceremony on Wednesday 6 April. The Awards recognise and celebrate excellence in third level education.
The Education Awards recognises the important impact of the partnership between CHARM-EU Alliance members which are offering a learning experience that has mobility and inclusivity at its core and are delivering a challenge-driven, student-centred and self-directed teaching model that integrates research, teaching and innovation.
Commenting on the award, Professor Pádraig Carmody, CHARM-EU Project Director at Trinity said: “I am delighted that the uniquely innovative nature of the CHARM-EU Alliance has been recognised through this award. Our Master’s in Global Challenges for Sustainability equips students with the practical and analytical skills to address real world challenges, while studying in a variety of different cultures and contexts at top European universities”.
Conor Spillane, CHARM-EU Project Manager added: “On behalf of the Project Team, the wider network of TCD staff contributing to the Project and of course our international university partners, we are delighted to receive the award. Despite the many challenges we have faced, including the COVID-19 pandemic, CHARM-EU was the only European University Alliance to accredit and successfully launch a new Masters. This is a testament to the CHARM-EU distributed leadership, designing events to ensure greater participation and collaboration, and using best practices from each of our universities.”
CHARM-EU offers a transformative educational experience to students, with an emphasis on sustainability through the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals and European Green Deal. Applications for the 22/23 CHARM-EU Masters in Global Challenges for Sustainability are now open. More information available at: https://www.charm-eu.eu/masters/globalchallenges
