The course will cover topics as:
– theories of law on legal subjectivity and legal personhood,
– theories on rights and distinction between fundamental and simple animal rights,
– the impact of the theories in relation to animal law and the protection of animals in terms of both de lege lata and de leger ferenda.

Learning outcomes

After the course, the students will be able to:
– understand and explain legal concepts as legal subjectivity and legal personhood,
– understand and explain different legal theories of rights,
– understand and explain the difference between fundamental and simple animal rights.

Introduction to Animal Law, 5 ECTS or equivalent module.
