The course will cover topics as:
Basic concepts of law, animal law as a legal discipline, paradigms concerning animal protection.

Learning outcomes

At the end of the course, the students without a prior knowledge of law will be able to understand and explain legal concepts as legal systems, sources of law, norm hierarchy, legal areas, and legal traditions. The students with prior knowledge in law will be able to recognize the difference between animal law and other areas of law in relation to their own topic of interest. All the students will after the course be familiar with the characteristics specific for animal law and be able to understand and explain in general terms what animal law as a legal discipline means and the main paradigms of animal protection.
