Have you developed, researched, implemented or benefited from an initiative that has strengthened democratic values and societal resilience? Share your experience at the CHARM-EU Annual Conference.
We are inviting poster submissions for the CHARM-EU Annual Conference “European Universities Alliances, Democratic Values, and Societal Resilience: Building Sustainable Welfare Societies”. The poster presentation session offers you an opportunity to share your ideas and gather feedback from CHARM-EU conference participants.
We are taking a broad view of democratic values and societal resilience and welcome a diversity of poster presentations. These can be research-based, practitioner case studies, policy or procedure examples, collaborative initiatives, emerging ideas, or personal narratives on an initiative.
Posters should align with at least some of these topics:
- Democratic values, participation, and inclusive university cultures
Including academic freedom in times of political polarization, universities as spaces for democratic dialogue and civic participation, freedom of speech and safe learning environments, decolonising curricula and knowledge production, building a shared European educational identity, intercultural competence development, support for underrepresented students, widening participation initiatives, gender equality, and mental health and wellbeing in higher education. - Innovation, collaboration, and resilience in education and society
Including transdisciplinary education addressing wicked problems, active learning approaches that strengthen democratic competencies, virtual exchange and collaborative online international learning (COIL), educational innovation in uncertain futures, universities contributing to community resilience during crises, local–global partnerships for democratic citizenship, and sustainable campuses as living laboratories. - Governance, ethics, and transnational cooperation in European higher education
Including building trust and transparency in transnational governance structures, ethics and democratic accountability in AI-supported education, and policy barriers and enablers for transnational education and European University Alliance collaboration.
Who should submit?
We welcome submissions from academic and administrative staff, external stakeholders, students, alumni and professionals involved in European University Alliance projects, cross-border cooperation, and strategic education and research initiatives.
