The Grand Finale serves as the ceremonial closing of the Master’s programme, where students present their capstone projects—team‑based research and solution proposals developed in partnership with external stakeholders from public, private, and non‑profit sectors. These projects address pressing societal and environmental challenges through intercultural, transdisciplinary approaches, reflecting the programme’s mission to bridge academic knowledge with real‑world impact.

Over the two days, teams presented ten distinct challenges ranging from sustainable food systems and ocean conservation to microplastics mitigation, digital compliance for SMEs, climate‑resilient aquaculture, and inclusive conservation strategies in South Africa. Each presentation included insights from academic supervisors and external partners, highlighting not only innovative solutions but also the rich exchange between students and practitioners.
The event’s format—presentations followed by Q&A sessions with stakeholders—offered a dynamic platform for rigorous academic exchange and networking. It underscored CHARM‑EU’s commitment to challenge‑based learning, where students actively engage with real partners to co‑create knowledge and contribute to sustainable solutions beyond the classroom.
The Grand Finale 2026 not only emphasized the students’ academic accomplishments but also showcased how transdisciplinary education can generate tangible contributions to policy, practice, and community engagement across Europe and beyond.
