Biocuration of human immunoglobulin (IG) and T cell receptor (TR) genes

Biocuration of human immunoglobulin (IG) and T cell receptor (TR) genes

Delivery institution and unit

IMGT®, the international ImMunoGeneTics Information System®, Institute of Human Genetics (IGH), Univ Montpellier, Scientific Research National Center (CNRS), UMR 9002, Montpellier, France

Internship description

IMGT® has an established standardized procedure for analyzing jawed vertebrates’ genome assemblies using various algorithms and internal and exteral tools in an effort to decipher those species’adaptive immune response. With the explosion in data volume produced in the latest years from sequencing human genomes of different individuals of different ancestries, there is an ever increasing need to gain insights in the genomic differences and similarities among individuals. To this end, the student will work in expanding our knowledge available in the genomic loci of the human, through the annotation and biocuration of the genes and alleles in different available assemblies by using IMGT standards and IMGT-ONTOLOGY.
