Research Support Offices of the Faculties

Science Policy Office (SPO)

  • Functions: Supervised by the Vice-Rector for Research, SPO supports top management-level decision making related to ELTE’s research strategies and policies, initiatives and activities, the dissemination of results, the initiation of interfaculty and inter- and multidisciplinary research activities, the promotion of research collaborations as well as the professional development of internal scientific tenders. The office is responsible for the development of ELTE’s researcher database (Knowledge Map). In addition, it contributes to the implementation of University Exellence Fund, an institutional reward and recognition system for excellent researchers.

University Strategy Office (USO)

  • Functions: Supervised by the Vice-Rector for General Affairs, USO is responsible for the coordination and implementation of institution-wide development projects related to all aspects of sustainability, innovation, emerging technologies and third mission; coordination of ELTE’s participation in various Hungarian and international, multisectoral, multidisciplinary projects involving business and society. USO manages the ELTE Strategic Database, including data on the education & research activities of the ELTE academic staff.

University Grants Office

  • Functions: The University Grants Office supports ELTE researchers’ national and international grants application and project implementation activities.  It supports the professional work of the research supervisors from the publication of the call for proposals, from the emergence of the proposal idea to the end of the maintenance phase of the project.

ELTE Center for Innovation

  • Functions: The ELTE Center for Innovation supports ELTE’s activities related to innovation, cooperation with businesses and technology transfer and is responsible for facilitating the exploitation of the research results produced by the University by acting as a bridge between the University and Industry.
    The Center launches annualy the Proof of Concept (PoC) call with the aim to provide financial aid to raise the maturation grade of intellectual properties, research ideas and plans generated at the university as well as to support institutional innovation activity an promote business exploitation of research results.
    The Center keeps records of services and competences provided by ELTE researchers and research projects.

DATAINNO – Software and Data Intensive Services Competence Center, Faculty of Informatics
