Kick-starting the development of the research arm of CHARM-EU, TORCH was working on the development of joint research plans and the assessment of good practices in various areas of responsible research and innovation. This article summarises the key results of TORCH, highlighting the multi-level impact of the project and providing a glance into the future of R&I in CHARM-EU.

ED-AFFICHE, a leading higher education consortium piloting the European Degree, is calling on the European Commission to take a proactive role in coordinating collaboration between all major actors across the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) to make the European Degree a reality. The call comes in response to the European Commission’s new Higher Education Package including a blueprint for a European Degree, which was unveiled on 27 March.

On 7 November 2023, the CHARM-EU Alliance will host the public CHARM-EU Annual Conference in Würzburg, Germany. Participants will have the opportunity to share experiences and best practices on the different strategies that European University Alliances use to achieve societal impact. This discussion will lead to an exchange of ideas with external stakeholders on the way forward for European University Alliances in order to enhance their impact.

The new CHARM-EU proposal CHARM-EIGHT∞ has won a grant in the 2022 Erasmus+ European Universities Call. The Alliance will continue to deepen and expand cooperation to advance the higher education transformation process towards full European Universities while increasing its impact.

Due to an outstanding interest in our brand-new master’s course in ‘Global Challenges for Sustainability’ we have decided to create a second round of applications for the programme. Deadline for applications next 26 May 2021. The Master’s in Global Challenges for Sustainability is aimed at graduates of any discipline from diverse backgrounds who want to acquire advanced knowledge of sustainability by addressing real and global societal challenges. Students will learn challenge analysis skills and extend their capabilities to address and develop solutions for complex problems.

The CHARM-EU Master in Global Challenges for Sustainability is a new international, innovative, flexible, inclusive programme with a challenge-driven, research-based curriculum.
