 bsp\;\n\nRegister Now\n\nScientific cooperation between European universit
 ies and partners in the People’s Republic of China continues to play an 
 important role across disciplines. At the same time\, academic collaborati
 on increasingly unfolds within a complex geopolitical and regulatory envir
 onment. Universities are expected to navigate evolving policy frameworks\,
  heightened public scrutiny\, and questions of institutional responsibilit
 y\, while safeguarding academic freedom\, research integrity and internati
 onal openness.\n\nAgainst this backdrop\, the China Competence Centre of 
 the University of Würzburg and the KoWinChi project (Interacting Compet
 ently with China in Science) — a joint programme of the University of W
 ürzburg and FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg\, funded by the German Federal Ministr
 y of Research\, Technology and Space — invite participants from across E
 urope to exchange experiences and reflect together on institutional approa
 ches to cooperation with China.\n\nOver the past two years\, the KoWinChi 
 project has worked closely with researchers and administrative staff at Ge
 rman universities to strengthen awareness\, institutional sensitivity and 
 informed engagement in academic cooperation with China. With this conferen
 ce\, we would like to continue the discussion within the broader European 
 context\, creating space for comparative perspectives and shared reflectio
 n on institutional approaches\, governance practices\, and academic engage
 ment.\n\nThe conference will address the following themes:\n\n 	European m
 essaging towards China: interpretations and impact\n 	Managing collaborati
 on with China: institutional approaches\n 	Risk management in academic coo
 peration with China\n 	Willkommenskultur: making international students fe
 el welcome\n\nThe first day will feature analytical and practice-oriented 
 panels\, bringing together university leadership\, researchers\, administr
 ators\, and policy actors engaged in European–China academic cooperation
 . The second day will take the form of interactive workshops aimed at iden
 tifying best practices\, governance models\, and potential avenues for fut
 ure European exchange and collaboration.\n\nRegistration includes access t
